About the Designer: Born and raised in Othello, WA, Architecture has been a lifelong dream. I went through school, elementary, junior high and high school, in Othello, the same high school that 4 generations of my family went to. As i started my journey at Washington State University, Architecture was my first choice, but i was soon introduced to Construction Management. I am now majoring in Architecture and Construction Management, and planning on getting my Masters in Architecture after i complete my Bachelors in Science. Outside of school you can find me hanging out with family, riding fourwheelers or working on my grandparents farm.
Unfolding Memories
Unfolding Memories is a portable and foldable structure that can be assembled by two people. The structure can be transformed into four different types of arrangements, pop up shop, open, closed, and sides open. The different arrangements allow for the structure to be used in different ways by different users. It allows the public to interact with those who reside in the space, as well as choose the layout/design they want for their structure. The roof panel would be a white finish to allow the user to write and/or draw what they choose on their own panel. This structure would be built out of nanoteched cardboard, a waterproof and fire resistant dip or spray, that would be applied to cardboard for a cheap and easily accessible material. Hinges would connect the whole structure together and allow the user to customize the shape they want their home to look. These structures can be placed together when used as a pop up shop to create a farmer’s market to sell stuff and make a profit. A tessellation panel can be added to the structure for the user to grow his/her own products to sell out of their home.
